The theme of the day was "Overcoming." The chorus began the performance by singing "Jesus Lifted the Load" a peace arranged by Jubilee Chorus member David Han. Choir members Muriel, Veronica, Janelle, and Deloris, each sang a verse from the song. Other songs sung by the choir included, Lift Thine Eyes, At the River, and Holy, Holy, Holy. Additionally, a few choir members shared bible readings and poems. Muriel read from Psalm 34 and Deloris read a beautiful poem about spring. Halfway through the performances, Janelle shared a special sermonette with the audience and her message was one of hope, faith, and helping our fellow man. Audience members were attentive and appreciative of our performance. There were also solo performances by two choir members; David and Yun-Mi who sang powerful renditions of He's Got The Whole World in His Hands and Wind Beneath My Wings.
At the conclusion of the service, one resident at the center named Anthony shared how he felt uplifted and thanked us for sharing our voices and The Word of God with him and the rest of the members of the Richmond Center.
Especially, this concert was prepared to serve the weak and the elderly. It was prepared with expectation of receiving joy by serving and loving our neighbors, just as our Lord loved us.
Jubilee Chorus gained greater joy by sharing small but precious talents of theirs. The final mission truly captured the spirit and true fellowship of the Jubilee Chorus.
