Jubilee Chorus (NYC) held its first rehearsal of 2015 on Tuesday, February 10, at Nyack College School of Music (NYC) in lower Manhattan.
The conductor, Dr. Elizabeth Swanson,talked about the mission and vision for the Jubilee Chorus to the singers and announced the outreach schedule of the first quarter of the year (see below).
The rehearsal also included introductions of new and returning members, singing new repertoire, and warm fellowship with delicious food. The Jubilee Chorus is particularly excited to welcome three new professional singers as part of Jubilee Choral Artists to the ensemble: Soprano, Tamara Usatova (originally from Ukraine); tenor and composer, Bill Heigen (originally from Brazil); and bass, Arron Kim (originally from South Korea).
One member shared, "2015 will be a year of great changes for Jubilee Chorus. Each member has first and foremost been called to worship God while continuing to raise themusical standard. Welook forward to expanding our musical territories as we continue to bring God's Word to the greater NYC area."She also added, "Jubilee wishes to share the joy and the glory of God, who consoles weary souls and gives freedom to those who are imprisoned in spirit."
The first rehearsal of 2015 concluded with prayers of thanks and prayersfor guidance that Jubilee Chorus cancontinue to spread God's Word across New York City, reaching those who need to hear His Word.
