Since I was a little child, I always enjoyed singing. When I came to the US in 2013, I really wanted to have an opportunity for singing. While I was praying for it, I was able to meet Mi-hee who was a director of Jubilee Chorus. So, I had an audition in front of a conductor, Dr. Swanson. She said it was beautiful. Since then I became a member of Jubilee. Every Tuesday, we gathered together and sang gospel songs. It was a great time that we pray for each other and prepared for our ministry using our musical talents.
On Christmas day in 2013, our chorus had a special event with Jubilee Worship members. We prepared "O Holy Night" and several beautiful Christmas songs. I even played the violin with songs. I cannot forget the last two Christmas events in which I felt God's grace through our songs with Jubilee chorus. It became a great festival when we invited our family and friends through Jubilee chorus to celebrate Jesus' birth. Not only for Christmas but also we visited several places to meet people who need God's comfort. We sang at a refugee's ministry and senior citizens at a nursing home.
These were special experiences to serve our community using music for God's Kingdom. Also, I met many American friends who wanted to encourage others and were eager to serve other people. I truly believe that God uses this chorus as instruments to bless people.
When our members met for the first time, I remember that we all had different voices and thoughts. However, as time went by, we became a colorful voice to spread the Gospel.
I hope that through our unity and fellowship, our chorus will be an effective tool to comfort people who need consolation. Also, I really appreciate our conductor, Dr. Swanson and director, Mi-hee.
I know without their efforts and help, nothing we have done would be possible. Even though I moved to Pennsylvania from NYC last August and it became difficult to join our regular meetings in Jubilee chorus, I still feel that I am part of them and whenever they call me, I will be glad to join our ministry. I miss Jubilee chorus.
I appreciate that I have this opportunity for sharing my Jubilee story. I would like to see Jubilee chorus' tremendous growth in Jesus Christ.
