Jubilee Chorus announces new music director, Elizabeth K. Swanson

September 02, 2013
Dr. Elizabeth Swanson

Elizabeth K. Swanson was chosen from candidates that applied for the position upon sharing the same vision with the ministry and her passion to make an international Christian music fellowship that would praise God through choral music.
Swanson is an Assistant Professor at Nyack College School of Music in New York City. She earned a doctoral degree in conducting at Northwestern University.
Swanson has presented at national conferences such as The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Symposium on American Choral Music, National Collegiate Choral Organization's fifth national conference in Charleston, SC.

The Jubilee Chorus will soon announced the audition schedule.

Word from Elizabeth K. Swanson:
Welcome to a new season with the Jubilee Chorus! The Jubilee Chorus wishes to proclaim a message of hope, healing, and spiritual freedom through music and to empower God's people with the gifts of music and fellowship.

How do you know if the Jubilee Chorus is a good fit?
-  You have a relationship with God and are seeking His grace and forgiveness.
-  You are passionate about music and passionate about making music with others.
-  You are seeking a Christian community that nurtures the development of musical skills and other Godgiven gifts.
-  You are seeking a robust and diverse Christian fellowship.
-  You have experience with singing, reading music, and musical performance and believe that seeking excellence in these areas draws you closer to God.
-  You believe that "Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music." (Martin Luther)

We hope that you will consider the Jubilee Chorus, where we combine our musical gifts, celebrate our diversity, and grow together in faith through that act of praising God and Christ, who is our Savior.
